Personalization

Enable or disable personalization across multiple listings and configure the settings buyers see when they order. The Personalization editor manages whether buyers can add custom text, how many characters they're allowed, and what instructions they see.

How to use it

  1. Select Personalization from the Inventory group in the sidebar.

  2. Each listing shows its personalization settings:

    • Toggle — Turn personalization on or off

    • Required / Optional — Whether buyers must fill in personalization before purchasing

    • Character limit — Maximum characters buyers can enter (up to 1,024)

    • Instructions — The prompt buyers see (e.g., "Enter the name you'd like engraved")

  3. Edit settings for each listing individually.

  4. Use Find/Replace in the toolbar to update instruction text across multiple listings.

  5. Click Publish Listings when ready.

Tips & gotchas

  • All personalization fields must be provided together. You can't turn personalization on without also setting the character limit and instructions.

  • If personalization is turned off, the "required" toggle must also be off and the character limit must be 0.

  • Character limit maximum is 1,024 characters.

  • Write clear, specific instructions. "Enter the name you'd like engraved (max 15 characters)" is better than "Enter text."

  • Use Find/Replace to update instruction wording across all listings at once — useful when changing a policy or format.
