How to use Presets

How to use Presets
If you sell products that share the same shipping profile, return policy, category, or description, you're probably re-entering that information every time you create a new listing. Presets fix that. Save any combination of listing fields as a reusable template, then use it as the starting point for Bulk Create to launch multiple new listings without the repetitive work.
What you can do with Presets
Save any combination of listing fields as a reusable template
Create multiple presets for different product types, categories, or workflows
Load a saved preset anytime to review or update its fields
Use a preset as the template for Bulk Create to launch new listings in batches
Delete presets you no longer need
How to use Presets
Create a new preset
Open Presets — Head to Listing Optimizer and open the Presets page.
Fill in your fields — You'll see a full listing editor form. Fill in whatever you want to reuse across listings:
Title, description, tags, materials
Photos and video
Core details (who made this, what is it, when was it made)
Category and category-specific properties
Price, quantity, SKU
Variations and variant inventory
Personalization settings
Shipping profile, return policy, shop section
Listing type, renewal option
Item weight and dimensions
Name it — Type a name in the preset field at the top. Use something descriptive like "Sterling Silver Rings - Physical" instead of "Preset 1" — future you will thank you.
Save — Click Save. Your preset is stored and shows up in the preset dropdown for next time.
Edit an existing preset
Pick a preset from the dropdown and click Set. The form fills in with all the saved values.
Make your changes.
Click Save Updates to overwrite the preset with your new values.
Delete a preset
Click the trash icon next to any preset in the dropdown. It's gone — but any listings you already created from it are unaffected.
Use a preset with Bulk Create
This is where presets really shine. Once you've built a solid preset:
Hover over the Bulk Create button to see a requirements checklist. You'll need at minimum: description, core details, category, shipping profile, return policy, and renewal option (for physical listings).
When all requirements are met, click the button.
Bulk Create opens with your preset pre-loaded as the template. From there, you can create multiple new listings in one shot. See the Bulk Create help doc for the full walkthrough.
Key concepts
Preset fields — A preset can store anything from simple text (title, description) to structured data (variations with pricing, category-specific properties). The more fields you fill in upfront, the less work each new listing takes.
Template reuse — Presets are built for products that share common attributes. If you sell handmade jewelry, for example, you might create a preset with your standard description, shipping profile, return policy, and category already set — then only customize the title, tags, images, and price for each new listing.
Tips & best practices
Make a preset for each product type. A preset for "handmade earrings" and another for "digital downloads" keeps your listings consistent and saves serious time.
Fill in the fields that never change first. Shipping profile, return policy, core details, category — these are usually the same across a whole product line. Get them into the preset and forget about them.
Check the Bulk Create requirements before saving. If you're building a preset specifically for batch creation, make sure all the required fields are filled in. Missing one means you'll have to come back and add it later.
Use descriptive names. "Sterling Silver Rings - Physical" is a lot more useful than "Preset 1" when you're picking from a dropdown six months from now.
Common questions
Can I use a preset without Bulk Create?
Presets are currently designed as templates for Bulk Create. The single-listing editor in Listing Optimizer uses the same form, but you can't load a preset directly into it yet.
Is there a limit to how many presets I can save?
Nope. Create as many as you need for different product types, categories, or workflows.
Do presets work across multiple Etsy shops?
Yes. Presets are saved to your ListingView account, not to a specific shop. If you have multiple connected shops, your presets are available across all of them. Just double-check that shipping profiles and return policies match the shop you're creating listings for.
What happens if I delete a preset that was used to create listings?
Nothing bad. Deleting a preset only removes the template itself — any listings you already created from it are completely unaffected.
Can I duplicate a preset?
There's no one-click duplicate button, but you can load an existing preset, change the name, and save it as a new one. Same result, one extra step.
