Bulk Editor

Updating Etsy listings one by one is tedious. Bulk Editor lets you select a batch of listings from your Listing Optimizer dashboard, edit any combination of fields across all of them, and push every change to Etsy in one go. Whether you're refreshing tags for the season, updating pricing across a product line, or swapping out photos — this is the fastest way to do it.

How to use Bulk Editor

Select your listings

1. Open Listing Optimizer — Head to your Listing Optimizer dashboard.

2. Check the boxes — Select the listings you want to edit. You can grab as many as you need — there's no limit.

3. Click Bulk Edit — Your selected listings load into the Bulk Editor.

Make your edits

The sidebar on the left organizes everything into four groups:

Listings — Title, Description, Tags, Photos, Listing Details, Category, Video

Inventory — Variations (with price, quantity, and SKU per variant), Personalization

Settings — Shipping, Section, Digital Files, Return Policy, Listing State

More — Materials

Click any section to open its editor. You'll see the current value for every selected listing, and you can edit each one individually. A purple dot appears next to any section you've changed. An alert icon shows up if something needs fixing before you can publish.

Let AI help with the writing

For titles, descriptions, and tags, the AI Writing Assistant is built right in. Click the AI button on any listing's field to generate or improve content. You can accept, reject, or regenerate each suggestion before moving on. If you've set up your brand voice in Settings → AI Settings, the AI will write in your tone automatically.

Publish your changes

1. The Publish Listings button in the top bar shows how many listings have pending changes.

2. Click it to send everything to Etsy.

3. A progress indicator tracks each listing as it's processed.

4. Each listing updates independently — if one fails, the rest keep going.

Undo mistakes

Changed your mind? Click Undo to step back. The editor keeps up to 50 undo steps, so you can freely experiment without worrying about losing your work. Nothing goes to Etsy until you hit Publish.

Don't worry about losing work

If you try to close the tab or navigate away with unsaved changes, a confirmation dialog will catch you first. Your edits stay safe until you're ready.

Key concepts

Bulk publish — Sends all your pending changes to Etsy in one operation. Listings are processed one at a time to stay within Etsy's API limits, and each one reports success or failure independently.

Field types — The editor handles text fields (title, description), list fields (tags, materials), media (photos, video, digital files), selection fields (category, shipping profile, return policy), and structured fields (variations with pricing and inventory, personalization settings).

Undo history — Every edit is recorded. You can step back through up to 50 previous states, so it's always safe to try things out before committing.

Tips & best practices

1. Focus on one field type at a time. Doing a seasonal tag refresh? Go straight to Tags and work through all your listings before touching other fields. It's faster and less error-prone than jumping between sections.

2. Use AI for large batches. When you're updating 20+ listings, letting AI generate titles or descriptions saves serious time. You still review each one individually, so quality stays in your hands.

3. Check for errors before publishing. The sidebar flags any section with validation problems. The Publish button stays disabled until everything checks out — so fix those alerts first.

4. One batch at a time. Only one bulk update can run per shop at a time. If you need to update more listings, wait for the current batch to finish.

5. Experiment freely. Nothing touches Etsy until you click Publish, and you've got 50 undo steps to play with. Try things out without stress.

Common questions

How many listings can I edit at once?

As many as you need. There's no hard limit on the number of listings in a single Bulk Editor session.

What happens if some listings fail during publishing?

Each listing is handled independently. If one fails (say, an Etsy validation error), the rest keep going. After publishing finishes, you'll see exactly which ones succeeded and which didn't, with error details for anything that failed.

Can I edit drafts and inactive listings?

Yep. Bulk Editor works with active, draft, and inactive listings. You can even change a listing's state as part of your edit — like moving a draft to active.

Does Bulk Editor work with AI?

Yes. The AI Writing Assistant is built right into the title, description, and tag editors. You can generate content for individual listings or use AI Batch Processing to handle multiple listings in the background.

What are Etsy's field limits?

Titles can be up to 140 characters, descriptions up to 5,000 characters. You get 13 tag slots (20 characters each), up to 10 photos, and up to 13 materials (45 characters each). Prices must be between $0.20 and $50,000. The editor validates all of this before you publish.
