Getting Started

ListingView is an Etsy analytics, SEO, and listing optimization platform. This guide walks you through everything you need to go from signing up to actively improving your shop — in about ten minutes.

What you can do with ListingView

  • Research any Etsy listing, shop, or keyword to understand what's working in your market

  • Analyze your tags and find better ones backed by real marketplace data

  • Connect your own Etsy shop and manage all your listings from one dashboard

  • Edit listings individually or in bulk — titles, descriptions, tags, photos, pricing, and more

  • Generate and refine listing content with AI, in your brand voice

  • Track competitors, keywords, and trends over time with your Watchlist

  • Access ListingView tools directly on Etsy pages with the browser extension

Step 1: Create your account

Head to listingview.com and sign up with your email or Google account. If you register with email, check your inbox for a verification link (and your spam folder if you don't see it — it's valid for 7 days).

Every new account starts on the Free plan: 50 uses per month for most research tools, no credit card required. You can start exploring immediately.

Step 2: Look up your first listing

The fastest way to see what ListingView can do is to search for a listing you're curious about — yours or a competitor's.

  1. Go to Listing Explorer from the dashboard.

  2. Paste any Etsy listing URL into the search bar and press Enter.

  3. ListingView pulls in the listing's performance data — sales, revenue, views, favorites, and an SEO score — along with every tag it uses and how each one performs in the marketplace.

Take a minute to scroll through the results. A few things worth noticing:

  • The SEO score cards break down how well the listing's title, tags, images, and description follow Etsy best practices.

  • The tags table shows each tag with its own search volume, competition, and opportunity scores — so you can see which tags are actually pulling their weight.

  • The analytics chart lets you view trends over different timeframes, from the last 30 days to all time.

Step 3: Research a keyword

Now try looking up a keyword you're considering for your own listings.

  1. Go to Search Term Analyzer from the dashboard.

  2. Type in a search term buyers might use to find your products — something like "handmade candle" or "vintage jewelry."

  3. You'll see search volume, competition, buyer demand, a recommendation score, and a pricing breakdown — plus up to 20 related keywords and the top 10 listings using that term.

This is where you figure out which keywords are worth going after. A high recommendation score means strong demand relative to competition — exactly where you want to be.

Step 4: Connect your Etsy shop

To unlock listing management, editing, and financial analytics, connect your Etsy shop.

  1. Go to Listing Optimizer from the dashboard.

  2. Click Connect your shop. This opens Etsy's authorization page.

  3. Approve the connection. ListingView will request permission to read and write your listings, view your transactions, and access your shop profile.

  4. Once authorized, your shop data begins syncing. You'll see a progress bar as your listings and transactions load.

After the sync completes, you'll have access to:

  • Analytics charts showing your sales, revenue, fees, profit, and refunds over time

  • A sortable listings table with performance data for every listing in your shop

  • The ability to edit any listing directly from ListingView — changes sync back to Etsy

  • Bulk Editor and Bulk Create for managing multiple listings at once

Step 5: Try the AI Writing Assistant

If you're on a paid plan, you can use AI to generate or improve your listing content.

  1. From Listing Optimizer, select one or more listings and click Bulk Edit to open them in the editor.

  2. Click the AI icon next to the field you want to improve — title, description, tags, or price.

  3. Choose an AI model and an action like Optimize, Make Shorter, Change Tone, or write a Custom Prompt.

  4. Click Generate. The AI produces content based on your listing context and any custom instructions you've set up.

Before you generate, you'll see a token cost estimate so you know exactly what the operation will cost. Paid subscribers receive 2,000 AI tokens per month, and you can purchase additional packs anytime.

Pro tip: Go to Settings → AI Settings and configure your preferred tone of voice, priority keywords, brand terms, and any words to avoid. This ensures every AI generation sounds like your brand — not a generic template.

Step 6: Set up your Watchlist

As you research listings, shops, and keywords, you'll want to save the ones worth tracking.

  1. From any research tool (Listing Explorer, Shop Analyzer, Search Term Analyzer, or Tag Analyzer), click the star icon on an item.

  2. Choose an existing folder or create a new one to keep your research organized by project, niche, or competitor.

  3. Visit your Watchlist anytime to see all your saved items, organized by folder, with trend data over configurable timeframes.

Tips for getting the most out of ListingView

  1. Start with research. Before editing anything, spend time in Listing Explorer and Search Term Analyzer understanding your market. The best optimizations come from knowing what's already working.

  2. Use Tag Analyzer before choosing tags. Every Etsy listing gets 13 tag slots. Tag Analyzer's Opportunity, Demand, Competition, and Velocity scores help you make each one count.

  3. Set up AI Settings early. Even a few keywords and a tone preference make a noticeable difference in AI output quality. You can always refine them later.

  4. Save to your Watchlist as you go. It's easy to forget a promising competitor listing or keyword. The Watchlist keeps everything in one place so you can revisit and track changes over time.

  5. Try the browser extension. If you spend time browsing Etsy, the Chrome extension puts ListingView's research tools in a sidebar on every Etsy page — no tab-switching needed.

Common questions

Do I need a paid plan to use ListingView?

Nope. The Free plan gives you 50 uses per month for most research tools, including Listing Explorer, Shop Analyzer, Search Term Analyzer, and the tag tools. Listing Optimizer and AI features require a paid plan.

How do I connect my Etsy shop?

Go to Listing Optimizer and click "Connect your shop." You'll be redirected to Etsy to authorize the connection. Once approved, your shop data syncs automatically.

What if my shop data isn't loading after I connect?

The initial sync can take a few minutes for larger shops. If it seems stuck, try disconnecting and reconnecting from Settings — this forces a fresh sync.

How do AI tokens work?

Every AI generation costs tokens based on the field, the model you choose, and the action. Paid subscribers get 2,000 tokens per month with a daily cap of 500. You can buy additional token packs that never expire.

Can I use ListingView on my phone?

ListingView is designed for desktop browsers. The browser extension is available for Chrome on desktop.
