Interpreting Results
Once you search a keyword, the Search Term Analyzer returns a full breakdown of how that term performs on Etsy. Here's what every piece of data means and how to use it.
Overview metric cards
Six cards at the top give you a snapshot of the keyword's marketplace performance:
Metric | What it tells you |
|---|---|
Search Volume | How much monthly search traffic this keyword receives on Etsy |
Competing Listings | How many active listings are using this keyword |
Total Views | The total views across all listings with this keyword — a direct indicator of buyer interest |
Competing Shops | How many unique shops are selling products under this keyword |
Total Sales | Lifetime sales count across all listings with this keyword |
Total Revenue | Lifetime revenue generated across all listings with this keyword |
Keyword Score
The Keyword Score rates the overall opportunity for this keyword on a percentage scale. It weighs buyer demand (search volume and views) against competition (competing listings and shops). The bar is color-coded:
Red (below 49%) — High competition relative to demand
Orange (49–80%) — Moderate opportunity
Green (above 80%) — Strong demand with relatively low competition
A higher score means better opportunity — more people searching, fewer sellers competing.
Pricing breakdown
A bar chart shows how listings are distributed across six price ranges:
Range | What it shows |
|---|---|
$0–10 | Low-cost or digital products |
$10–25 | Mid-low price point |
$25–50 | Mid-range products |
$50–100 | Premium items |
$100–250 | High-end products |
$250+ | Luxury or high-value items |
Use this to spot pricing gaps. If most listings cluster in one range and another range is nearly empty, that could be an underserved market segment.

Tips for reading results
High search volume + low competing listings = strong opportunity. These keywords have buyer demand without being oversaturated.
Check the pricing breakdown before choosing a price point. If everyone is at $10–25, you might differentiate by offering a premium version at $50+.
Use the Similar Keywords table to expand your research. Your original keyword might be competitive, but a related term with a higher recommendation score could be the better angle.
Look at listing age in the Top Listings table. If top sellers have been live for years, the niche is established. If many are new, it's an emerging market.
